QuintEssential Winds concert March 14, 2012
The QuintEssential Winds will present a concert at 7:30PM on Wednesday March 14, 2012 in Huntington Recital Hall at the Capital University Conservatory of Music, 1 College and Main Streets, Bexley, Ohio. The program includes the world premiere of Mark Flugge’s “Chorale and Fantasy” for woodwind quintet with bass clarinet and Leos Janacek’s masterwork for the same combination “Mladi (Youth) Suite”. Completing the concert will be Danish composer Wilhelm Emilus Hartmann’s Serenade in B-flat, Op. 43 for nonet conducted by Barry Kopetz. The QuintEssential Winds are faculty at the Capital Conservatory of Music. The guest bass clarinetist is William Denza of the Columbus Symphony and Central State University. Two students will assist on the Hartmann Serenade. The concert is free and open to the public.
